Kick-off Times

Recently the Pitching In Isthmian League confirmed that early Saturday kick-offs will be allowed during the forthcoming season. Chairman Nick Robinson has written to all clubs to advise them that, in order to reduce energy costs, particularly those related to floodlights, they are permitted to bring forward Saturday kick off times so long as both clubs agree.

Having discussed the matter internally, we have decided that all home games will continue to have a 3:00pm kick-off, and we shall ask for all our away games to kick-off at a similar time.

This is to help everyone have certainty concerning kick-off times and we are aware that a number of those involved, players, club officials and supporters work on Saturday mornings which could mean they may miss games.

It was also felt the savings would be minimal for home games, especially now that we have recently installed new LED floodlights, and there is also the possibility that even kicking-off at 1pm, could mean they may need to be switched on by the end of the game.

Concerning away games, a 1pm kick-off would mean an early leaving time for some games with travelling distances of over 100 miles in some cases, and we are also aware that John books the coaches with a 3:00pm in mind and would involve a lot of extra work for him if he needed to change starting travel times. With the rail strikes looking as if they may continue, road looks likely to be the only way to get to some of the away games and so this will be an important service for our supporters this season.

Finally, Invicta would however like to express their thanks to the League’s Board for looking at ways of helping ourselves and other clubs with what will be ever rising costs.
