Thanks Luke!

Folkestone Invicta are sorry to announce that the brief spell of Luke Wanadio has ended as he has agreed to join Alfie Paxman at Dover Athletic for the forthcoming 2022/23 season.

Luke, pictured above (courtesy of Randolph File), originally joined the club on loan from National League South Dartford in January, but some exciting displays saw him sign a permanent  deal until the end of the season.

Overall, he made 16 appearances (15 starting and 1 as a substitute), scoring 5 goals, including a hat-trick in his second game away at Potters Bar Town in Invicta’s 7-0 victory, although he had made his debut a few days earlier in a 3-1 defeat at Worthing. His last game was the 1-0 defeat at home against Margate on Easter Monday.

Manager Neil Cugley said: “When he joined the club, Luke made a great start scoring a hat-trick in just his second game, but unfortunately injury and illness restricted his appearances, and he didn’t quite kick-on as expected, but when he did play you could see what an exciting player he was and I’m sure he’ll do well at the higher level. “I’m sorry to see him go and would like to wish him well at Dover Athletic.”

After his move, Luke tweeted: “Would like to thank everyone for welcoming me last season and making me enjoy my football again - a special club with an amazing bunch of fans who I will forever be grateful to.

“Hopefully, promotion incoming, with some fantastic additions, wish you all the best.”

The club would like to him for all his efforts whilst at Invicta and wish him well at Dover Athletic in the next stage of his career.
