Kadell Daniel Next In At The BuildKent Stadium

Midfielder/Left Winger Kadell Daniel is the fifth new signing of the summer as Neil Cugley continues to build a squad to hopefully challenge for the Premier Division Title. Kadell, who is 28 and 5’10” tall, has signed from Hayes & Yeading United, who last season finished as Runners-up in Southern League Premier Division South before losing 2-1 against Farnborough in the Play-off Final.

He started his career with Crystal Palace Under 18s before moving on to their Under 23 side when he appeared as an unused substitute in an F.A. Cup tie in January 2012, against Derby County, which Palace lost 1–0. In September 2013, after rejecting a new deal at Crystal Palace, Kadell joined Championship side Charlton Athletic on a one-year deal, with an option of an extra year, but after two years at the club, he was sent out to Hayes & Yeading United on a one-month loan in February 2015, making his debut on the 14th February 2015 in a 1–1 draw against Bromley. The following month, he joined Conference Premier side Torquay United on loan for the remainder of the 2014/15 season, making his debut on the 4th April 2015, also in a 1–1 draw, this time against Dartford, and a week later Kadell scored his first Torquay United goal in a 2–0 home victory over Altrincham. He scored once more before returning to Charlton Athletic at the end of the season.

In August 2015, after his release from ‘The Addicks’, Kadell joined National League side Woking on a one-year deal, making his debut in a 1–0 defeat at Tranmere Rovers when he came on as a substitute in the 68th minute. On his second start for ‘The Cards’, he scored his first goal in a 5–2 victory over Chester, netting a free-kick to give Woking a 3–0 lead into half-time, and a week later, Daniel scored again in a 1–1 draw against Boreham Wood.

Despite the goals, he rarely featured and so joined National League rivals Welling United on a non-contract basis in January 2016, making his debut on the 23rd January 2016, in a 2–1 home defeat against Barrow, although a week later, Kadell scored his first goal for ‘The Wings’ in a 1–1 draw against FC Halifax Town, and he went on to score twice more in thirteen appearances for Welling before leaving at the end of the 2015/16 season.

Kadell then joined Isthmian League Premier Division side Dulwich Hamlet for the 2016/17 season, making his debut in a 2–2 draw against AFC Sudbury, scoring in the 40th minute. At the end of October, he joined Leatherhead on loan and on the 5th November 2016, he made his Leatherhead debut in their 3–1 home victory against Lowestoft Town, before scoring his first goals for ‘The Tanners' a couple of weeks later when he hit a brace in their 5–2 victory over Staines Town. At the end of January 2017, it was announced that he had been released by Dulwich Hamlet and so he re-joined Leatherhead on a permanent deal.

He then signed for Dover Athletic on the 1st August 2017, after a trial period with the club in which he scored in a 3–0 victory at Deal Town. He made his debut, coming off the bench on the opening day of the season in a 1–0 away victory to Hartlepool United, and scored his first goal for the club in a 2–0 away victory at Aldershot Town, which sent Dover Athletic to the top of the National League for the first time in their history. Kadell signed a new contract with Dover Athletic at the end of the season following 2 goals in 39 appearances, but he was not a regular in the 2018/19 season, and he spent time on loan at Isthmian League club Margate and when he was released by Dover Athletic, he re-joined Margate.

After a season at Hartsdown Park, in which he netted twelve times in thirty-five appearances, Kadell joined fellow Isthmian League side Kingstonian ahead of the 2020/21 season, he also spent a season with ‘The Ks’ before signing for National League South Hampton & Richmond Borough prior to moving on to Hayes & Yeading, a club he had previously played for on loan, at the end of the November and spending the rest of the season there.

Away from his club football, Kadell is also an international for Guyana. In May 2015, he received his first call-up for the Guyana Under 23 squad and went on to feature numerous times for them, before receiving a call-up to the senior squad within the same year. On 25th June 2015, Daniel made his Guyana debut in a 2–0 defeat against Cuba, prior to making further appearance in November 2017, featuring for the full ninety minutes during their friendly against Trinidad and Tobago, which resulted in a 1–1 draw. He also played in three of the four qualifying matches that took Guyana through to the CONCACAF Gold Cup for the first time in the nation's history, and he played in one group match, a draw with Trinidad & Tobago, at the tournament itself.

Neil said: “Sorry if I’m sounding a bit repetitive, but once again I’m delighted to have signed Kadell, he is another vastly experienced player who has played at higher levels and we haven’t had many players who are current internationals at Invicta!”
