Invicta are on the road for the second time this week as we head to Canvey Island to take on Concord Rangers

Previously

The two clubs last competed in the same division in the 2010/11 season with Invicta being relegated from the Isthmian Premier Division while Concord Rangers finished 8th. The clubs drew 1-1 at Cheriton Road with Simon Austin scoring for Invicta, while Concord won 2-1 in Essex. 

Since then the clubs have played a couple of times in pre-season friendlies, in 2016 and 2018. 

The Opposition

Concord are managed by former player Sammy Collins, who took over from Rob Small (better known to Invicta supporters as the former Bowers & Pitsea manager) in the summer following their relegation from the National League South. 

The squad includes Ricky Modeste and Khale Da Costa who both spent time at neighbours Dover Athletic.

Travel

Always check rail times/strike action before you travel. 

Train strikes tomorrow will make any attempts to travel by public transport near impossible. Travel by road is fairly straightforward however and takes roughly 90 minutes from Folkestone.
