Folkestone Invicta are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Luke Watkins.
The 34 year old ‘keeper is returning to action having recovered from an injury suffered in November 2021 while at Faversham Town. He has also made a number of appearances for other Kent clubs including Ramsgate, Whitstable Town and Rochester United.
Luke joined up with the squad ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Margate where he was named as a substitute, with Joshua Strizovic starting in place of the absent Joe Coleman.
Luke’s father Mal played for Folkestone in the late 1980s.
Joint Head Coach Micheal Everitt spoke this afternoon: “Luke’s a very experienced goalkeeper with hundreds of appearances across his career across Kent and a great character to have in the squad so we are delighted to get him in. As well as providing competition for Joe [Coleman], Luke will also be helping with supporting goalkeeper coach Gary Towse.”
Welcome to Folkestone Invicta, Luke.
