There’s no rest for Invicta as we follow up Saturday’s match at Hashtag United by hosting Margate on August Bank Holiday Monday for our second Kent derby of the season.
From The Managers
Speaking following Saturday’s match with Hashtag United, Micheal Everitt said:
“We’ve got a couple of niggles we will have to assess on Sunday, it’s a really quick turnaround but anyone who is playing is going to really want to play on Monday, in front of a bumper crowd in a really tough game. If you get a positive result [at the start of a Bank Holiday weekend] and then back it up with another one you’re going to be really happy.
We will have Heardy back with is a massive plus, we’ve missed him for the first 4 games, he’ll bring energy and quality and it will be great to have him back.”
Previously
The teams met three times last season with Margate picking up a 1-0 win in the Velocity Trophy 4th round in November as both sides finished the game with 10 men while Callum Davies had a goal controversially ruled out for offside. Invicta picked up all 6 points in the 2 league meetings, winning 4-0 at Cheriton Road at the turn of the year followed by a 1-0 win at Hartsdown Park on Easter Monday.

The Opposition
Two of Margate’s squad from last season, Ade Cole and Freddy Barton, will line up in black and amber. Invicta’s player coach Andy Drury began last season as Margate manager before departing Hartsdown Park on Boxing Day ahead of their trip to Cheriton Road on 2nd January that Invicta won 4-0.
The Gate have lost goalkeeper Daniel Jinadu to Maidenhead United and defender Peter Ojemen has joined Dover Athletic while forward Ben Greenhalgh, defender Harrison Hatful and midfielder Sam Blackman remain as a core from last season’s squad.
Tyrone Sterling has joined from Dover and Montel Agyemang from Billericay while ‘keeper Harry Seaden signed from Hornchurch just a week into the season, having only made to move to The Urchins from Billericay earlier in the summer.
Margate have started with 2 wins and 2 draws from their opening 4 matches, with both sides scoring in every match.
