Invicta continue preparations for the 2023/24 Isthmian Premier Division season as we welcome Isthmian North Division side Brightlingsea Regent to the Alcaline Stadium on Tuesday evening. The Essex outfit will be familiar to our supporters following a number of clashes between the sides in recent seasons before their relegation from the Premier Division last season.
Previously
Brightlingsea came out on top the last time the clubs met, winning 3-2 in Essex back in January. Invicta took the points the last time Regent visited us however, a 3-1 win thanks to goals from Nathan Green & Ade Yusuff.
From The Managers
Speaking on Monday afternoon, joint Head Coach Micheal Everitt said:
“It’s another chance to get minutes in the legs as we build towards the new season, as well as taking a look at the youngsters we have and the trialists and of course we will get a first look at Andre Coker as an Invicta player.
We have to thank Brightlingsea for coming down to us, especially on a Tuesday night. I speak to their manager [Brett Munyard] quite a bit and he has done a great job there and I’m sure they will bounce back.
It was great to see so many people come out last week [against Tonbridge Angels] in that horrendous weather to take a first look at our new side and we hope that we will get a decent crowd again tomorrow, especially with the signing of Andre as well as another addition we will be making to the squad before the match.”
The Squad
Four summer signings started last week’s 1-0 defeat to Tonbridge Angels and will be joined by the latest additions: Andre Coker and one more signing who put pen to paper this weekend. The squad should also feature a number of youth & Academy players as well as some trialists.
