The Opposition
Welling United haven’t had the easiest start to life in the Isthmian League following relegation from the National League South in the summer. Lee Martin took charge of the rebuilt but departed at the start of October with former manager Rod Stringer stepping back into the dugout as interim manager.
Despite opening with a win over Royston Town in the FA Trophy, there has been no new manager bounce for The Wings who have lost five of their last six in all competitions and currently sit 20th in the Isthmian Premier Division with nine points from their opening 13 fixtures.

Invicta last beat Welling United in August 2001, a 4-2 win at Park View Road with goals from James Virgo, Anthony Hogg and Scott Daniels. Welling are unbeaten in 10 meetings between the clubs since then.

The Manager
Rod Stringer first took charge of Welling United in January 2024 and steered the club away from relegation to the Isthmian League, but was unable to maintain the form that lead them to safety the following season and departed in March 2025. Following the departure of Lee Martin a month ago Stringer returned as interim manager and has overseen two wins in seven games in all competitions.
One To Watch
Forward Femi Akinwande is one of the most prolific goalscorers in the Isthmian Premier Division over the past few years, racking up goals for the likes of Hastings United, Hornchurch and Billericay Town.
Familiar Faces
Invicta fans will recognise Eze Ebuzoeme and Luke Allen who both has spells at the Alcaline Stadium last season.
