With Invicta producing two FA Cup upsets against Maidstone United and Horsham, as well as a 5-2 win over Aveley in the Isthmian Premier Division, we took up 60% of the nominations for the Shepherd Neame Performance of the Month for September.

It was our victory over National League South side Maidstone that actually won the award, with Jay Saunders’ side knocking his former club out of the FA Cup in front of over 1,200 people at Chatham Town’s Bauvill Stadium on Friday 12th September.

Donell Thomas opened the scoring just before half time, with Ade Yusuff adding a second a minute after the restart to see off George Elokobi’s side.

Congratulations to Jay Saunders and his team, who are currently preparing for Saturday’s trip to Southend United – where they will be looking to cause a third upset this season.
