Folkestone Invicta can confirm that goalkeeping coach Jim Stannard has stepped down from his role due to personal reasons.
Jim joined us during the early stages of pre-season and played a valuable role in supporting the squad’s preparations over the summer – including helping to bring in our new goalkeeper Ted Collins.
Speaking on his decision, Jim said: “It’s not a call I wanted to make, but unfortunately some personal circumstances have come up that make it difficult for me to continue in the role right now.
“I’ve really enjoyed my short time at Folkestone Invicta and I want to thank everyone at the club – players, staff, and supporters – for making me feel so welcome.”
First team manager Jay Saunders added: “We’re sad to see Jim go but fully respect the reasons for his decision and send nothing but our best to him.
“He made a big impact during his time with us and I know he’ll be missed by everyone at the club.”
The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Jim for his commitment and contribution during his time here and we wish him all the very best.
The process of recruiting a new goalkeeping coach is underway ahead of our 2025/26 campaign which kicks off this Saturday against Chichester City.
