Folkestone Invicta Football Club are delighted to announce midfielder Brad Walledge has committed to join Jay Saunders’ squad for the 2025/26 season.
A Folkestone lad, Brad is a product of Folkestone Invicta Youth and a former scholar of Folkestone Invicta Academy.
Brad made his Folkestone Invicta debut on the final day of the 2022/23 season and has so far made eight appearances for the club.
The 20-year-old midfielder stepped into men’s football with Kent Football League sides New Romney and Hawkinge Town before stepping up into the Southern Counties East Football League firstly with Canterbury City and later Kennington, where he made 24 appearances last season before returning to Invicta for the final month of the season under Jay Saunders.

“We are delighted that Brad will be staying with us. When we came in, he wasn’t a player we knew a lot about, but we called him back from Kennington and I was really impressed with him.”
“He trained really well and when we gave him opportunities he played very well, so at the end of the season we had a chat and I told him we wanted him to be a part of the squad next season.”

“He’s still got lots to learn, but he’s a local lad who wants to be here and wants to play for the club and I think that goes a long way.”
As well as joining the first-team squad, Brad will be involved within our Youth section as a coach for our Under-18 Boys competing in the Kent Youth League.
Congratulations to Brad and we look forward to watching his continued progress.
