Team News

The squad trained on Monday, giving manager Andy Drury the chance to asses players returning from injury for the busy Christmas period.

Dan Smith and Jack Jebb both missed Saturday’s defeat to Dartford, with the manager hoping that either one may return on Thursday.

Sam Blackman is likely to be unavailable having suffered an injury that forced him off on Saturday after coming on as a second half substitute.

From The Manager

Manager Andy Drury spoke on Christmas Eve: “After Saturday’s defeat at home it’s important we bounce back on Boxing Day, both with a much improved performance and a result. Just a few weeks ago we were on a high, 4 wins in a row lifting us into the playoffs, and now we are at a low with 4 defeats and it is our job to turn that around. The only way we improve both performances and results is sheer hard work, both from me and my staff and from the players on the pitch. The supporters who make what is a long journey on Boxing Day deserve full credit for their commitment and support and we have to repay that with a performance they deserve.

I’d like to wish all our supporters a Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing them cheering us on at Lewes and when we are back at home on Saturday against Wingate & Finchley.”

Previously

Invicta did the double of Lewes last season, with 3-1 wins home and away. David Smith, Ibrahim Olutade and Ira Jackson JR scored in a rare Invicta win at the Dripping Pan in September 2023 before Seidou Sanogo and a Tom Derry double saw off The Rooks at the Alcaline Stadium on Good Friday.

You can see all the action from those wins below.

The Opposition

After the departure of Tony Russell in the summer, Craig Nelson joined from Glebe to take the reins at The Dripping Pan. The Rooks had a flying start to the season and were sat top of the Isthmian Premier Division after 10 games but a run of just 2 wins in 12 games has seen a drop to 8th.
