A busy week at the Alcaline Stadium continues on Tuesday evening.
Invicta will be looking to bounce back from Saturday’s FA Trophy exit at the hands of Hanwell Town.
Team News
Andy Drury will be able to call upon winger Joe Turner and defender Joel-Michael Odeniran, both having missed Saturday’s FA Trophy exit due to being cup tied.
Winger Khale Da Costa is a doubt having been forced off early on against Hanwell Town, Matthias Fanimo returned from an injury to replace him and so should be back in contention for a start. Captain Ian Gayle may also return, his minutes having been limited in recent weeks by a slight injury.
From The Manager
Andy Drury spoke to our Head of Media ahead of Tuesday’s fixture: “With another game coming so soon after Saturday’s defeat we are happy to have the chance to bounce straight back and put things right in front of our supporters on Tuesday night.
We are hugely disappointed to have exited the FA Trophy on Saturday. Having controlled the game in the first half but not gotten ourselves in front we allowed Hanwell to drag us into their game and away from the way we want to play after half time and it took too long for us to adjust. We defend well as a team and control the ball well in possession but in the most important area of the pitch, the final third, we have come up short in recent weeks. It is up to me to rectify that as soon as possible, to get us creating more chances and scoring more goals.
Dulwich will be a very difficult test for us, currently sat just outside the playoffs after a good start to the season. They have had a year of rebuilding after dropping down from the National South and are a big club at the level. you would expect them to be in the playoff picture come the end of the season, so getting a result on Tuesday would be a important to help us kick on ahead of a busy Christmas period on the pitch.
The supporters have been magnificent in the backing they have given us so far this season and we hope to see them in good number again on Tuesday, their support is important to the players out on the pitch.”
The Opposition
Dulwich Hamlet have had a good start to the season, currently sitting 6th in the Isthmian Premier Division, just 3 points off the playoffs after 14 games. Having been promoted to the National League South after winning the Isthmian League playoffs in 2018, a 5 year stay came to an end last summer, as they were relegated on the final day of the season. After stabilising last term, Hamlet now look like they may be set for a real post at returning to Step 2.
Dulwich are currently the best supported side in the Isthmian League, averaging 2,497 so far this season. They are the only club with a high attendance than Invicta’s 2,906 against Dover, breaking the 3,000 barrier twice already this season.

Recent Meetings
Invicta took just a single point from the 2 meetings between the sides last season, beaten 3-1 at Champion Hill in November before coming from 3-0 down to take a point in our final home fixture. You can catch up with highlights on Invicta TV.
Invicta’s record in this fixture doesn’t make for good reading, with just 1 win in the last 10. That win came in an FA Cup tie in October 2022, 10-man Invicta snatching a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Ade Yusuff.

Familiar Faces
Dulwich’s danger man will be familiar to Invicta supporters. Luke Wanadio spent the second half of the 2021/22 season at Cheriton Road, first on loan from Dartford before a permanent transfer. After returning for a second spell at Champion Hill last summer, the winger was Hamlet’s top scorer with 23 goals last term and is well on the way to beating that this time out with 12 goals already to his name.
The Manager
Hakan Hayrettin took over at Champion Hill during the 2022/23 season but was unable to prevent relegation back to the Isthmian League on the final day of the season. Hakan will be known to fans of non-league football in Kent as the man who lead Maidstone United to the 2021/22 National League South title.
