Folkestone Invicta Football Club are delighted to announce a partnership with Her Game Too, marking Folkestone Invicta Women’s inaugural season.

Partnering with Her Game Too reflects Folkestone Invicta’s ambition to create opportunities for females to take part in football and the club’s commitment to ensuring the Alcaline Stadium is a safe and welcoming place for everyone to visit.

The Her Game Too campaign was set up three years ago by a group of passionate female football fans, who wanted to support the growth of female football, tackle gender discrimination and misogyny and champion women in all roles in the game.

Her Game Too has more than 130 volunteers based at clubs across the country, who work to ensure football grounds are welcoming and comfortable places for women to visit and play at, coordinate activities and events promoting Her Game Too’s values and share positive stories of the achievements of women in football on social media.

Her Game Too is partnered with 73 of the 92 Premier League and English Football League clubs, as well as hundreds of non-league and grassroots clubs, leagues, pubs and other organisations.

In Kent, Folkestone Invicta is joining the likes of Gillingham, Bromley, Ebbsfleet United and Faversham Town in becoming a Her Game Too partner club.

Folkestone Invicta Chairman Josh Healey said: “As a club, we believe that football should be a game where everyone feels valued and respected – both on and off the pitch – which is why this partnership with Her Game Too is so important to us.

“It’s going to open up some exciting opportunities and we’re looking forward to working closely with them to drive positive change within our club and across the wider community.”

Paige Collins, Her Game Too Ambassador for Gillingham Football Club, said:

“We are really excited to have Folkestone Invicta join us as a Her Game Too partner club.

“Seeing Folkestone Invicta Women attract a crowd of more than 300 spectators to their first competitive home fixture last month reflects how inclusive and supportive the club already is, and it’s brilliant to see them get their season off to such a successful start with some emphatic victories.

“We are looking forward to working with Folkestone Invicta to support the growth of the female section and encourage women and girls of all ages to get involved in the club, whether that’s as fans, players or volunteers.”
