Folkestone Invicta Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Matthias Fanimo.

The winger joins Invicta having most recently been at Ebbsfleet United, who he departed in the summer and made his Invicta debut on Tuesday night as he played 62 minutes against Phoenix Sports in the Kent Senior Cup.

Matthias came through the ranks at West Ham United and made his breakthrough into senior football during a loan spell at Tranmere Rovers.

After leaving West Ham Matthias made the move into non-league football where he appeared for Bishop’s Stortford, Eastleigh (where he played alongside Andy Drury) and Margate.

In 2018, Matthias headed abroad, beginning a 5-year spell in Eastern Europe with Slovenian club FC Drava Ptuj.

After a season he South East to Bosnia & Herzegovina to join FK Mladost Doboj Kakanj, followed by a 2-year spell at FK Sarajevo.

His next stop was Croatia with NK Slaven Belupo before returning to Slovenia with FC Koper.

Matthias then headed back to England in the summer of 2023 to join National League side Ebbsfleet United.

Manager Andy Drury spoke about his latest signing: “Im delighted to sign Matthias. He’s someone we have spoken to a lot this summer and we have had to wait patiently as he wanted to explore his options at National League level. I played with him at Eastleigh and I’m sure he will be a good signing for us. He will bring lots of quality and pace in the final third along with a good work ethic and professionalism, he’s a player who can get fans off their seat.”
