With the worst of the wet weather hopefully behind us, Invicta look towards back to back home fixtures starting with the visit of Kingstonian on Saturday

FREE Entry For Women

With Friday being International Women’s Day 2024 we are offering FREE entry to all women for our fixture with Kingstonian.

Invicta

Following a month in which Invicta’s fixture list has been decimated by the weather, Andy Drury took his side to play Sheppey United on Tuesday evening. The hosts ran out 2-1 winners with Tom Derry scoring for Invicta.

Academy goalkeeper Dan Kennedy came on as substitute for the final 15 minutes of the fixture. Elsewhere brothers Fin & Lucas Dent both came on for Kennington while Kian Scott made his debut for Canterbury City in a 2-1 win over K Sports with Brad Walledge scoring the opening goal.

From The Manager

Manager Andy Drury spoke on Thursday evening:

“We are really looking forward to Saturday, both with our lack of games in recent weeks and the lack of Saturdays at home so far this year we can’t wait to get going. We haven’t been at home on a Saturday since January so we want to see a big crowd on the terraces and then go out and put on a performance for them.

We had a good runout Tuesday. The most important thing was getting minutes into legs given our lack of game time, so we thank Sheppey for hosting us. We’ve followed that up with a good session on Thursday and the lads are raring to go on Saturday. We’ve got 11 games to go, we want to put a run together, pick up as many points as possible and climb up the table.”

Previously

Kingstonian won the reverse fixture 3-0 at Imperial Fields back in October.

Having won both fixtures home and away last season, Kingstonian are in a 3 game winning streak against Invicta.

Invicta have a good home record against The Ks however, with 4 wins and a draw from the last 6 meetings at Cheriton Road.

The Opposition

Kingstonian currently sit bottom if the Isthmian Premier Division with 18 points from 31 games.

The Ks are currently 9 points from safety with 11 games to play so Saturday’s fixture is vital for their chances of avoiding relegation.

Tutu Henriques was appointed manager last month and has so far taken charge of 2 fixtures, picking up 1 point.
