2-1

With both clubs suffering from a decimated February schedule, Invicta head to Holm Park for a mid-season friendly with Sheppey United.

From The Manager

Manager Andy Drury spoke on Monday:

“We want to thank Sheppey United for hosting us on Tuesday evening. With a lack of games in recent weeks due to postponements this is a chance to get minutes into legs of players ahead of a hugely important run of games. They’ve had even fewer games than us in the past month so they’ll be thinking the same.”

Speaking on last week’s departure of Kane Penn: “Kane has done a great job for us this season but travelling to us for matches and training was causing an issue with his work commitments so he needed to go somewhere closer to home. With his departure it is possible we may have a player come in over the next week or so to fill that place in our squad.”

Kit

Invicta will line up in black and amber with the hosts home kit being red and white stripes.

The Opposition

Invicta may be suffering from a lack of action recently but Sheppey Untied have played just twice since 27th January, beating Three Bridges 1-0 but falling to Merstham by the same scoreline, both on their 3G pitch at Holm Park.

Following an FA Cup run to the 1st Round that saw them host Walsall in a televised fixture, The Ites are now looking to push for promotion from the Isthmian South East Division, currently sitting in 8th but with games in hand on those above them.

The Venue

Travel

Always check rail times/strike action before you travel.

Queensborough is the closest rail station to Holm Park, changing at Dover Priory and Sittingbourne will get you there but there is only 1 service that will get you home to Folkestone on Tuesday night, you’ll need to catch the 21:52 service back to Sittingbourne. The station is a 24 minute walk from the ground so it is doable.
