Following Saturday’s postponement against Concord Rangers, Invicta host Potters Bar Town in another rearranged fixture from earlier in the month.
News from the Alcaline Stadium
There is nothing new to report from the Invicta dressing room since Saturday’s postponement.
Andy Drury will welcome back Dean Rance who has extended his loan from Scunthorpe United, Seidou Sanogo who was suspended at Whitehawk and Ade Cole who was unavailable.
Toby Byron will serve the final match of his ban picked up for his sending off against Hornchurch.
From The Manager
Manager Andy Drury spoke ahead of training on Thursday evening:
“We were obviously disappointed for Saturday’s game to be off, the boys were all raring to go and it’s been frustrating to have fixtures postponed and to have only played once in 3 weeks. But we are ready to go again on Tuesday night and we want to go and get a positive result to build some momentum ahead of a crucial period of the season.”
Previously
The sides met back in September on a Tuesday evening that had everything. Invicta took an early lead but were 3-2 down by half time. Early in the 2nd half Potters Bar goalkeeper Preston Edwards was sent off for a foul on Ibrahim Olutade just outside the area, forcing left back Prosper Keto to take the gloves, but Invicta could only find a single goal to take home a point.
The Scholars took 3 points when the sides met at Cheriton Road last season, winning 3-2 in controversial circumstances with a late winner that appeared offside before Invicta were then denied a late penalty for handball.
That win is the only time in 9 meetings that The Bar have taken all 3 points against Invicta, with 5 wins and 3 draws since 2018.
The Opposition
Potters Bar were firmly entrenched in the relegation scrap when the sides last met but have since pulled themselves clear sitting in 16th, 12 points above the bottom 4 with 2 games in hand. They sit 3 points above Invicta so a win for The Stripes on Tuesday evening would take us level on points.
The Scholars come into the fixture on the back of a 4 match unbeaten run, beating Cheshunt and Concord Rangers and picking up draws against Carshalton Athletic and Bognor Regis Town.
