After Enfield Town and Haringey Borough Inivcta face a third successive away fixture as we travel to Canvey Island
Squad Update
Following 3 additions to the squad last week manager Andy Drury has allowed Will Moses to go on loan to Isthmian South East Division side Ashford United while winger Joe Boachie has departed the club.
Chris Sessegnon missed Saturday’s draw at Haringey Borough with an injury but Ian Gayle returned to the bench.
Kit
With the hosts home kit being yellow and blue, Invicta will line up in red & white striped shirts with red shorts and socks.
Weather
Thankfully we appear to have overcome last week’s cold snap and Tuesday will see highs of 12 degrees in Canvey Island, a far cry from last season’s visit.
The forecast is for some rain around lunchtime but hopefully nothing that will put the fixture in danger of another postponement.
Previously
This is the first meeting between the sides this season, postponed from December due to a waterlogged pitch.
Canvey Island won both fixtures between the sides last season, 3-0 in Essex on a bitterly cold December Saturday before a 3-1 win back at Cheriton Road in April.
The Opposition
Having secured a playoff spot last season before losing to Aveley in the semifinal, Canvey have failed to recapture that form so far this season and currently sit 13th in the Isthmian Premier Division with 32 points from 23 games.
They currently sit 5 points ahead of Invicta, have scored 5 more goals and also conceded 5 more ahead of the fixture.
With their fixture on Saturday postponed, Canvey’s last match was a 3-2 win at home to Kingstonian on 13th.
Since the turn of the year Canvey have won 2 (both at home) and lost 1 (away to Haringey Borough)
The Venue
The Movie Starr Stadium is situated just yards from the mouth of the Thames.
Supporters enter from the north of the stadium where the clubhouse is situated as well as a large open terrace.
In the event of wet weather cover can be found along the side of the pitch but both ends are uncovered.
The pitch is grass.
Travel
Always check rail times/strike action before you travel.
By Car:
Exit M25 at Junction 30 and take the A13 towards Southend. You will reach a series of mini roundabouts. At these roundabouts, take the A130 towards Canvey Island. At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit which will keep a sports centre on your right and follow signs for Canvey Island Football Club. Eventually, you will enter a one way system. Keep left through the one way system and after one mile you will pass the Transport Museum on your right. Park Lane is on the right hand side shortly afterwards, with The Prospects Stadium located in front of you. There is plenty of parking outside the ground.
By Train:
It does appear to be possible, but tight, to make it back from Canvey Island to Folkestone should you wish to use public transport on Tuesday evening.
Benfleet Station is 40 minutes from London Fenchurch Street and 50 minutes from London Liverpool Street on the C2C line. The station is 5 miles from the ground. There is a taxi rank around the back of the station. Alternatively, you can use the frequent bus service from the front of the station.
