After Tuesday night’s win at Welling United, Invicta are back on the road on Saturday as we make the trip to Hertfordshire to take on Potters Bar Town.
It will be Invicta’s first trip to Potters Bar in over two years, and the first on the new 3G surface at The Lantern Stadium, with The Scholars having spent last season ground sharing at King’s Langley as the work was carried out.

From The Manager
Jay Saunders spoke ahead of Saturday’s trip: “Potters Bar will be a tough one, Sammy [Moore] has gone in there this week and you’d expect them to bring in a few players and it makes it harder for us to do our work on them and plan for what they might do but we’ll do that as best we can.
“You’d also expect them to be up for it with a new manager going in there, that ‘new manager bounce’ you often see, so we’ll have to be right on our game if we want to keep building on our start to the season, on our wins earlier in the week.”
The Opposition
It’s been a tough start to the season for Potters Bar Town that saw the club make a managerial change earlier in the week with Max Mitchell departing and former boss Sammy Moore returning to the club.
Having spent all of last season away from home, playing ‘home fixtures’ at nearby King’s Langley, The Scholars have yet to make their new 3G surface a fortress with just one win from eight games in all competitions.
Currently bottom of the Isthmian Premier Division, scoring goals hasn’t been a problem but at the other end Potters Bar currently have the second worst defensive record in the division which has led to plenty of high scoring games so far at the Lantern Stadium – six of their eight home fixtures have seen four goals or more.

The Manager
Potters Bar parted ways with Max Mitchell earlier this week after two and a half years in charge and quickly announced the reappointment of his predecessor Sammy Moore.
A former Invicta player, Sammy previously joined The Scholars in January 2022, before departing with his side top of the table to join Faversham Town.
Moore’s last job saw him a lot closer to home with Hythe Town, but he departed the club after just one game into the 2024/25 season.
One To Watch
Brandon Adams has five league goals to his name so far this season, six in all competitions to take his tally to 40 goals over the past two and a half years for Potters Bar. Adams scored a hat-trick when the sides played out a 3-3 draw in September 2023.
