Ahead of Tuesday night’s Velocity Cup Third Round tie away to Welling United, Folkestone Invicta Football Club wishes to inform supporters about the fixture.
With the tie coming in the middle of a run of 18 fixtures in 63 days, a side comprised of Folkestone Invicta academy players will fulfil the fixture.
Four academy players have made first team debuts so far this season, with Louis Brooks-Read and Harry Linford appearing in the Kent Senior Cup while Taj Oliva and Harry Uttley have appeared in the FA Trophy.
Jay Saunders spoke following Saturday’s FA Trophy tie against AFC Totton:
“It will be an academy side that plays against Welling on Tuesday night. We will be there with the academy coaches Richard Styles and Kevin Brown but we feel that the players need this rest to get us right for Saturday’s trip to Cheshunt with the Saturday-Tuesday schedule piling up. We obviously had a few players missing today for different reasons but thankfully we came through it without picking up any injuries.
“We’re in a good place at the moment after a good start to the season and we hope supporters understand the need to prioritise a busy month of league fixtures heading up to Christmas.”
We can also confirm that ticket prices for the fixture have been reduced to £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
