Folkestone Invicta are delighted to announce the signing of 24-year-old midfielder Bivesh Gurung.

The former Maidstone United midfielder joins Invicta having departed The Gallagher Stadium in the summer.

Bivesh is a product of Maidstone United’s youth setup and in 2017, he landed a scholarship at Crystal Palace. After spells in Norway and Sweden, Bivesh returned to England where he joined Jay Saunders at Margate before returning to Maidstone United. There, he was part of the squad who won the National League South title in 2022.

Jay Saunders spoke about his latest signing: “I’m really delighted to bring Bivesh to the club. He’s a player I’ve worked with before and know very well.

“With Maxx’s loan ending we knew we were a bit light in the centre of midfield, while carrying a couple of niggling injuries, so it was important we strengthened and Bivesh is a great signing for us.

“He’s played at this level before and has a lot of experience higher too, despite only being 24. He’s good on the ball, he’s good physically and he will be a real asset to us and a great addition to the squad.”

Bivesh goes straight into Jay Saunders’ squad for tonight’s FA Cup tie against his former club.

Welcome to Cheriton Road, Bivesh.
