There’s been fantastic progress at Cheriton Road as we edge closer to our return home. The trunking is now installed around the pitch perimeter and the stone has been set ready for the tarmac base. Work is moving at pace with the new perimeter fencing already a quarter installed. Partner boards will be reintroduced as this continues.

New perimeter fencing installed in front of the West Stand at the Alcaline Stadium.

On the pitch, the FIFA Quality Pro 3G surface is being laid and we expect the entire carpet to be down by Wednesday. The next stages will see the surface joined together, lines stitched in, and the sand and rubber infill go on. To complement the upgrades, our brand-new dugouts, kindly sponsored by Burnap + Abel, are also arriving this week.

Away from the pitch, we’ve got a big clean-up planned for Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th October from 9am, as we get the stadium fully ready for our return. We’d love as many volunteers as possible to lend a hand and get involved. Coffees and breakfast rolls will be on us to fuel the effort! It’s also a brilliant chance to get an early look at the improvements.
