Folkestone Invicta are delighted to announce the signing of 22-year-old forward Josh Strouts.

Invicta supporters caught a first glimpse of Josh in action as he wore the no. 18 shirt during Saturday’s win over Hythe Town, assisting Jake Hutchinson’s opening goal shortly before the hour mark.

Josh is a local lad, playing for Folkestone Invicta Youth before being picked up by Gillingham.

After departing Gillingham, Josh joined Chatham Town academy, while also appearing for Canterbury City before departing to study at Loughborough University.

Last season, Josh made 43 appearances for Loughborough Students, playing at step four of the National League System in the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands as well as competing in the FA Cup and FA Trophy.

Jay Saunders spoke about signing Josh: “I’m really pleased to have added Josh to our squad.”

“He’s someone I worked with when he was a teenager so I’ve known him a while, but since then he’s gone away to university, experienced men’s football at step four and grown into a man – bigger, stronger and a player who will cause opponents a lot of problems.”

“What I know I’ll get with Josh, and what the supporters will love, is that he will run himself into the ground and give everything for the badge.”

Supporters can see Josh in action again tomorrow evening when we travel to Sheppey United for the second fixture of our pre-season schedule.

Welcome to Cheriton Road, Josh.
