Folkestone Invicta Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Donell Thomas.

Donell has been a part of Jay Saunders’ squad throughout pre-season, scoring in our opening fixture against Hythe Town.

The versatile midfielder is a product of Colchester United’s academy system. During his time with the Essex club, Donell featured in the FA Youth Cup, EFL Trophy and made two appearances in the EFL League Two.

During the 2022/23 season, Donell made 30 appearances on loan with Bishop’s Stortford during their Isthmian Premier Division winning season.

Donell departed Colchester last summer, joining Bowers & Pitsea before spending the second half of the season with Cheshunt.

Jay Saunders said: “Donell has come in with us for pre-season, done really well and has fitted in great with the boys in the dressing room.

“He’s added something different and can play a few positions – he’s played both centrally and wide.

“He showed us what he is capable of on Saturday with the chances he created in the first half and we’re looking forward to working with him this season.”
