Folkestone Invicta Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of full-back Montel McKenzie.

Montel joins Invicta from Billericay Town, where he made 34 appearances in all competitions last season.

After being on the books at West Ham and Arsenal as a youth player, Montel headed across the Atlantic to play college football for Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs and semi-professional football with New Jersey side Ocean City Nor’easters.

He then returned to England with Woodford Town in 2022 before moving to Hemel Hempstead in the National League South.

Jay Saunders spoke about his latest addition: “I’m really pleased to have Montel on board. He’s a good, attacking full-back who can play on either side of the pitch.

“He’s come up against my teams a few times over the past couple of seasons and I’ve always been impressed by his performances.”

“Last season, he was part of a squad that came close to winning the league and I’m confident that experience will really benefit us this season.”

Montel joined up with the squad for the start of pre-season training last week ahead of our opening pre-season fixture away at Hythe Town on Saturday 5th July.

Welcome to Cheriton Road, Montel.
