Folkestone Invicta Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Mikey Berry from Tonbridge Angels.
The 19-year-old follows Jay Saunders from Longmead to the Alcaline Stadium to become the Invicta manager’s second addition of the summer.
The youngster worked under Jay and his management team through the back end of the 2024/25 season, making a total of 16 appearances in the National League South.
Mikey departed Charlton Athletic last summer and stepped into men’s football for the first time with Ashford United. His performances for the Isthmian South East caught the eye of Saunders who took him to Tonbridge in January.
Jay spoke about his latest summer addition: “He’s a really good, young footballer. He’s exactly the type of player that we’re wanting to bring in.”
“I know Tonbridge were keen to keep him, but I’ve known him for quite a while now and I think that relationship played a big part in getting him through the door.”

Jay added: “He’s still got a lot to learn and work on, he knows that. He can improve, he can add goals to his game, but he’s someone who likes to get on the ball, he’s creative, he’s a great lad as well and he wants to learn. That’s the sort of player that we want to work with.”
Mikey is the first of a number of players to put pen to paper this week as manager Jay Saunders builds his squad for the 2025/26 season, with pre-season training set to begin in under three weeks.
Welcome to Cheriton Road, Mikey.
