After 4 games on the road (and Tuesday night’s postponement) Invicta return to the Alcaline Stadium for our first home fixture since 25th January.
3 consecutive defeats, to Dulwich Hamlet, Hashtag United and Cray Wanderers, have put a huge dent in Invicta’s playoff ambitions, but Andy Drury’s side will be looking to bounce back against Potters Bar and kick off a strong end to the season, especially at the Alcaline Stadium.
Tuesday’s postponed fixture against Chichester City has been rearranged for Tuesday 11th March.
Team News
Midfielder Sam Blackman has joined Isthmian South East side Margate on loan until the end of the season.
Dan Smith returned to action at Cray Wanderers on last week to bolster the attack and Miquel Scarlett made his debut as a substitute after signing from Chatham Town.
From The Manager
Andy Drury spoke to our Head of Media ahead of Saturday’s match: “We have 11 games to go this season, 6 of those at home in front of our supporters. It’s important we put a strong run together until the summer, we need to finish as high as we can and take momentum into a big summer for the club. It is up to us as a group to show supporters over the next 2 months that that we are building something, that we are heading in the right direction. It’s up to players to show me that they want to be a part of it, that they can take us in that direction.”
The Opposition
With the home ground undergoing major redevelopment throughout this season, an opening day 8-0 defeat at their temporary home of Kings Langley might have set alarm bells ringing but Potters Bar have settled into a comfortable mid-table position. Should they maintain their current position of 11th, it would be their highest finish since promotion from the Isthmian North Division in 2018, bettering 2 13th place finishes.

Recent Meetings
34 goals in our last 7 meetings suggests we could be in for a goal-fest on Saturday, even if the corresponding fixture last season finished goalless. The Scholars are unbeaten in their last 3 trips to Cheriton Road, Invicta’s last win coming in October 2020 thanks to a single goal from David Smith.

Key Man
Fromer Margate forward Steve Cawley is Potters Bar’s top goalscorer this season with 14, but Brandon Adams punished Invicta with a hat-trick when the sides drew 3-3 in Hertfordshire. The 27-year old missed the meeting between the sides earlier in the season but should be raring to go on Saturday having started their last 8 games.
