Invicta head to south east London on Saturday for our first ever visit to Cray Wanderers’ Flamingo Park Stadium.

It will be our 4th consecutive away fixture, and our 4th of February. We will be back at home on Tuesday 25th February for our rearranged fixture with Chichester City. Tickets are on sale now.

Team News

With Dan Smith set to return to the squad this weekend, manager Andy Drury should only be without midfielder Sam Blackman for the trip to Flamingo Park.

Colours

Invicta will take to the pitch in our red & white away colours, with the hosts in yellow and black.

From The Manager

Manager Andy Drury spoke ahead of the fixture: “Off the back of 2 hugely disappointing results, it’s important we bounce back on Saturday.

With 12 games to go, we want to finish the season as strongly as possible, to finish as high as we can and to take momentum into an important summer for the club.”

Previously

The sides met back in November at the Alcaline Stadium, Invicta taking the 3 points with a 1-0 win thanks to a first half goal from Dan Smith and a second half penalty save from Jonny Henly

The sides have met 9 times since Cray Wanderers were promoted to the Isthmian Premier Division in 2019, with Invicta taking 4 wins to The Wands 2. Both of those wins for Cray came at Cheriton Road, with Invicta unbeaten in 4 trips to Hayes Lane. Invicta have also kept 4 clean sheets in the last 6 meetings between the sides.

The Opposition

London’s oldest football club, Cray Wanderers finally have a home of their own after opening Flamingo Park last summer.

Neil Smith’s side endured a difficult start at their new home, with just 1 point from their opening 4 league fixtures, but have now turned it into a fortress where they are 11 games unbeaten since October.

The Wands don’t have a good record in Kent derbies at their new home, however. Cray Valley and Chatham both won on visits early in the season while Tonbridge Angels, Phoenix Sports and Erith Town have all come away with victories in cup competitions. Cray’s only win over another side from the county was an 8-0 thumping of SCEFL side Larkfield & New Hythe in an FA Cup replay in September.
