Folkestone Invicta are delighted to announce the signing of Sam Smith on a 1-month loan deal from Maidstone United.

The 20 year old defender joined the Stones from Rochester City in 2023 as part of their Under 23 side but caught the eye of the first team management, eventually making his debut in the Kent Senior Cup quarter final before going on to start in the final as Maidstone lifted the trophy.

Manager Andy Drury said: “Sam is a young lad who is very highly rated at Maidstone and I’m delighted to get him in. His versatility as a left sided defender will be important for us over the busy Christmas period with 8 games coming up in the next 4 weeks.”

Sam joined up with the squad for training this week and is available ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Chatham Town.
