Folkestone Invicta Football Club are delighted to announce the return of Nathan Green.

Nathan returns to the Alcaline Stadium for a second spell after departing National League South side Hornchurch last month.

The defender originally joined Folkestone Invicta in the summer of 2022 and immediately established himself as a fans’ favourite with his performances at left back. “Greeny” went on to make 47 appearances, scoring 6 goals as he was voted Player of the Season both by the supporters and his teammates. Nathan was also selected in the Isthmian Premier Division Team of the Season.

Nathan departed for Hornchurch last summer where he made 18 appearances for the eventual Isthmian Premier Division winners before his season was curtailed by injury. He returned to the pitch for the start of pre-season, making 8 appearances in the National League South before departing Bridge Avenue last month.

Manager Andy Drury spoke about his latest addition: “I’m delighted Nathan has decided to return to Invicta. He made it clear after leaving Hornchurch he wanted to come back and I’m delighted to get his signature. Without doubt over the last few years he been the stand out left back at this level. He is currently recovering from a knee operation he had a month ago, but once he is fit in the next few weeks I’m sure he will be back at that level and help our push for the play offs. I’m sure it’s a signing that the fans will be happy with and they will no doubt be looking forward to seeing him play again in black & amber stripes.”

Drury added: “Myself and all the squad appreciate all the continued support from the fans and we will be looking forward to rewarding that support over the coming months.”

Although currently recovering from an injury, Nathan joined the squad at training this week to meet his new teammates and looks forward to being back on the pitch at the Alcaline Stadium soon.

Welcome back, Nathan.
