Folkestone Invicta Football Club can confirm that forward Dan Smith has been successful in his claim of wrongful dismissal for serious foul play during our fixture against Dover Athletic on Tuesday 5th November.
Dan was dismissed in the 60th minute for a challenge on Dover’s Alfie Matthews, but that has today been overturned by the FA following a hearing this afternoon.
Invicta’s leading goalscorer was set to miss the next three home fixtures, starting with Hanwell Town in the FA Trophy before Dulwich Hamlet and Bognor Regis Town in the Isthmian Premier Division, but he will now be available for selection after winning his appeal.
Dan scored his 11th goal of the season in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Cray Wanderers.
