Folkestone Invicta Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Josh Chambers.

The former Gillingham midfielder signs for Invicta having started on Saturday away to Tonbridge Angels.

Josh was first called into the Gillingham first team squad in February 2022, the fifth youngest player in their history.

He made his EFL debut in March 2022 as a substitute against Doncaster Rovers before making his first start in April at Sunderland.

Josh has since spent part of the 2022/23 season on loan at Worthing in the National League South, then the 2023/24 season at Welling United before returning to Worthing in the second half of the season.

Manager Andy Drury said about his latest signing: “I am absolutely delighted to sign Josh. He’s a player that has been on my radar all summer and it is great to get this deal done ahead of the first game on Saturday. He’s spent the majority of the last 2 years playing in the National League South with Worthing and Welling and we want to get him back to that level. He is a player who can play in any role in midfield and that provides us with great versatility, he has huge potential and we want to help him fulfil that here at Folkestone Invicta.”

Welcome to Cheriton Road, Josh.
