Folkestone Invicta FC intends to have a 3G pitch installed for the 2025/26 season.
Following positive and constructive discussions with Folkestone & Hythe District Council (F&HDC), Folkestone Invicta Football Club is delighted to announce plans to install a 3G pitch at the Alcaline Stadium ready for the start of the 2025/26 season, subject to planning being granted by F&HDC.
After a tough 2023/24 season for the grass pitch and with too many Saturday matchday postponements, the surface is running its course and it’s time to change and evolve the playing surface at Folkestone Invicta FC.
With that in mind, the planning application for the 3G pitch, in addition to upgraded perimeter fencing, is due to be submitted to the council in the coming months.
Chairman Josh Healey said: “From the outset, our aim has always been to enhance the sustainability of the club. Having already created a new community sports bar and much-improved first-team changing room facilities, I am thrilled to announce that our next stage of investment is the playing surface.
“We will be moving to a state-of-the-art 3G pitch, which will not only grow the reach of the club by bringing in the wider community, but it is set to provide much greater consistency for our first-team players, academy, youth and newly founded women’s team.
“This marks a significant milestone for Folkestone Invicta FC and one I’m sure will have a lasting impact, bringing people together and strengthening the local community here in Folkestone from the roots up. We’re excited to see the impact and opportunities it brings.”
Further details of our plans for the 3G pitch will be communicated in due course.
