Folkestone Invicta can confirm that, despite having previously agreed terms for the 2024/25 season, David Smith will now depart the club this summer.
David departs having found the net 56 times for the club in 116 appearances over 2 spells at Cheriton Road.
The striker originally joined the club in the summer of 2020 from Ashford United and impressed during the very short 2020/21 season between COVID19 lockdowns, scoring 6 goals in 12 games.
It was during the 2021/22 season that he earn that tag of “Bagsman” as he scored 35 goals in 60 appearances, a record that earned a move to National League side Bromley.
Last summer however Dave made a return to the Alcaline Stadium to pull on the black and amber stripes for a second time, going on to score 15 goals in 44 appearances in his second spell.
We wish to thank David for all his efforts over both spells at Folkestone Invicta and we wish him all the best for the next chapter in his career.
