Under 19’s
Kent Intermediate Cup Wed 10 April Alcaline Stadium
Folkestone Invicta

Invicta U19 host Deal Town Reserves on Wednesday evening for a place in the final of the Kent Intermediate Cup.

The Kent Intermediate Cup

27 teams began this season’s Kent Intermediate Cup back in September, 3 now remain.

The winner of Wednesday’s semi-final will meet Sheppey United U23 (who beat Tunbridge Wells U23 4-1) in the final at Sheppey’s Holm Park on Wednesday 8th May.

Deal Town are the current holders of the competition, beating Rusthall Reserves 4-1 in last season’s final.

Invicta had been knocked out by Rusthall in the semi-finals, losing 1-0 at Cheriton Road.

The Road To The Semi-Finals

Invicta have got through 3 rounds to make it to this year’s semi-final, winning 3-1 in every round.

Last season’s semi-final defeat was avenged with a win over the rebranded Rusthall U23 back in September at Jockey Farm.

Minster Reserves and Chatham U23 have visited the Alcaline Stadum in subsequent rounds and have both been beaten by the same scoreline.

Deal Town have beaten Sittingbourne Reserves (5-1), Snodland Town Reserves (4-3) and Herne Bay U23 (7-2) so far in defence of their title, making them comfortably the top scorers in the completion so far.

Invicta U19

The Kent Intermediate Cup will be the 2nd of 3 semi-finals for Paul Stanton and most of the players involved on Wednesday evening.

Invicta U18 fell to a 3-1 defeat away to Rusthall in the Kent FA U18 Boys Cup semi-final last month while our Academy side have progressed to the final 4 of the Tactic League T3 Cup.

Our U19 side are the youngest competing in the competition this season, completing against U23 and reserves sides from across Kent.

Invicta’s 9 goals so far have been spread around the team; Brad Walledge, Kian Scott and Aiden Cassidy all with 2 each plus goals from Ralph Bray and brothers Fin and Lucas Dent.

Deal Town Reserves

Deal Town Reserves compete in the Kent County Football League Division One Central & East.

Just like the Deal Town 1st team, the reserves currently sit top of their division. With 3 games to play they just need 2 wins to secure the title, with Snodland Town Reserves the only potential remaining challengers, 13 points behind with 3 games in hand.

As well as being top scorers in the Intermediate Cup, Deal’s firepower has been unrivalled in the league, scoring 82 goals in just 21 games.

Harry Andrews, Owen Wilkinson and Charlie Groombridge have all scored more than 1 in 2 but none come close to matching Jamie Kennedy with 24 goals in 20 appearances, to add to the 6 he has scored for the 1st team since January.

Entry will be £5 for adults and free for under 18s. Supporters must enter the ground via The Dugout turnstiles and will be CASH ONLY.
