After last weekend’s unscheduled break Invicta return to action with a trip to Canvey Island

From The Managers

Manager Andy Drury spoke on Thursday evening:

“We’ve had 2 weeks of training and I’ve been very happy with the quality and intensity the lads have shown. All the new boys have been good and blended into the squad well and they’ll be looking forward to pulling on that shirt for the first time.

It’s a tough place to go, we know that, but we are going there for 3 points. We’re looking forward to getting back on the pitch after our enforced weekend off, we want to give our travelling support something to head home happy with.”

Previously

Canvey took all 6 points in the meetings between the clubs last season: a 3-0 win in Essex on a birtterly cold December afternoon was followed by a 3-1 win back at Cheriton Road in April.

The Opposition

Canvey currently sit 9th in the Isthmian Premier Division with 25 points from 17 games.

They have lost their last 2 games away from home at Hastings and Horsham but are unbeaten at home in 6 matches (4 wins and 2 draws) since Whitehawk won 2-1 on 9th September.

Bradley Sach is top scorer with 10 goals this season. He scored a hat-trick in this fixture last season and grabbed another in the return match at Cheriton Road.
