A young Invicta side welcome Minster Reserve to the Alcaline Stadium on Wednesday evening in the Kent Intermediate Cup

The Kent Intermediate Cup

The DFDS Kent Intermediate Cup is competed between Reserves, U23 and U21 Teams whose First Team competes in the DFDS Kent Senior Cup or Trophy and they must also be playing in the Kent County football League or equivalent level. Played as midweek Competition, the current holders are Deal Town Reserves who beat Rusthall Reserves in last season’s final.

From The Manager

Speaking ahead of the weekend Paul Stanton said:

“We would love as many people as possible to come and watch the future of the club who are excelling at u18 and within the Academy.

We will be without Luke Watkins who was excellent last round but we welcome back Finn Dent and Brad Walledge who are out on loan and it again gives a real opportunity for more youngsters to develop and get used to men’s football.

This cup is vital for our boys to further bridge the gap between the youth/academy and first team which is crucial for the continued growth of the club.”

The Squad

Invicta’s team will be made up of a mixture of Folkestone Invicta Academy & U18 players as well as some 1st team fringe players that are eligible under the competition rules.

Previously

Invicta progressed through the 1st round with a 3-1 win at Rusthall U23 with goals from U18 midfielder Ralph Bray, and Academy players Fin Dent & Brad Walledge.

Invicta reached the semi-final last season, beating Snodland Town Reserves, K Sport Reserves and Holmesdale Reserves before falling 1-0 to Rusthall Reserves (who then became the Rusthall U23 side we beat in the 1st round this season).

The Opposition

Minster Reserves currently sit 11th in the Kent County Football League Division One Central and East with 8 points from 11 games.

Top scorer is Scott Roddam with 6 goals in 11 appearances so far this season.

Minster progressed through the 1st round beating Welling Town U23 2-1 at Cobdown
