Ahead of the 2023/24 league campaign which kicks off tomorrow, I would like to take this opportunity as Folkestone Invicta Football Club’s new Chairman to summarise our main visions as we venture into the new season.
Whilst maintaining a realistic outlook on the season ahead, we are hugely confident that FIFC will hold significant runs in the FA Cup and FA Trophy and we, of course, aim to push for play offs.
With such visions, joint head-coaches Michael Everitt and Roland Edge have been busy making some really key signings, with the aim of building a squad that can be competitive this coming season.
We are delighted to welcome all new players to the club, and existing players back for the new season. We know their experience and ability will shine in all of our upcoming games, making an immediate difference to our performance, and facilitating a successful season for FIFC.
This summer, big change and improvement has already been underway at the ground. We have had encouraging discussions with the council regarding the redevelopment of Cheriton Road – most importantly the introduction of a 3G Pitch. We will keep fans updated on this as the season progresses.
We are also delighted to be introducing a new sports bar and grill called ‘The Dugout’, which is set to open in early October 2023. The future of the club and local community alike is looking bright and I am confident the right resources have been put in place for success, both on and off the pitch, this season.
The overwhelming and continued backing from our fans is much appreciated, as always. Your support makes a huge difference to both the players and management, and will of course be integral to the club’s success in this upcoming league campaign.
On behalf of everyone here at FIFC, we look forward to opening the turnstiles for both our supporters and visitors on Tuesday 15th August 2023, for our first home game of the season against Chatham Town.
Best wishes,
Josh Healey
Club Chairman
