We are delighted to announce that defender Ian Gayle has agreed terms to remain at the Alcaline Stadium for the 2023/34 season.

Having signed for Invicta in the summer of 2022 from his dual registration at Eastbourne Borough and Cray Valley (PM), Ian went on to score 7 times in 47 appearances for the club last season, leading to him being voted second in the 2023/23 Supporters’ Player of the Season vote behind Nathan Green.

We are absolutely delighted to have got Ian signed to a new contract. He was probably our best and most consistent performer after Christmas last season. He’s a top player who has attracted plenty of interest both from this level and above but has shown his commitment to what we are doing here. He’s become a vital part of our defence, a threat on opposition box and is certainly a fans favourite – Micheal Everitt
