The Alan Turvey Trophy (Sponsored by Velocity)

As previously mentioned, there has been a change to the format in this season’s competition, with the clubs in the North, South-Central and South-East Divisions competing in ten regionalised groups in the First Round with each group winner joining the twenty-two Premier Division clubs in the Second. Each club will play each other once (so sides in six team groups play five games and those in five team groups play four) and the ten group winners will receive a prize of £500.00.

In the group games, three points will be awarded for a win and should the game end in a draw, each team will receive one point, however, there will then be a penalty shoot-out, with the winners getting a bonus point. Below are the current standings in the various groups with points shown in the ‘BP’ column indicating teams that have won penalty shoot-outs and so picked up a bonus point or two.

Dereham Town, Guernsey and Whitehawk did not enter.

The First Round is now coming towards the closing stages and the majority of the Group winners are now known with just three to be decided, although one of those is all but over. You’ll also notice that some teams have had points deducted for playing ineligible players, although for two it didn’t matter, it proved fatal for Ware, who would have qualified as Group winners had they not lost the points.
