BetVictor Isthmian League - October Awards

The latest set of awards for October have been announced.

Manager of the Month sponsored by Anderson Travel

This season, not only will Anderson’s Travel sponsor the Isthmian Youth League, but they have also confirmed that they will generously continue their ‘Manager of the Month’ sponsorship in tandem.

Premier Division; Enfield Town have made a good start to the season and in October they took ten points out of twelve, defeating Brightlingsea Regent, Cray Wanderers and Cheshunt as well as beating Bishop’s Stortford in the Buildbase F.A. Trophy. Therefore, the award goes to Andy Leese.

North Division; The winner is Karl Duguid as his Heybridge Swifts side took seven points from nine during the month, defeating Witham Town and Soham Town Rangers whilst drawing with Basildon United.

South Central Division; Chertsey Town won all three of their League matches in October, scoring    thirteen goals and conceding five. So the plaudits go to Kevin Maclaren.

South East Division; With the South Central Division award going to Chertsey Town, the prize for the South East Division goes to their Buildbase F.A. Vase Final opponents from last season Cray Valley (PM). ‘The Millers’ picked up nine points from nine during October as they beat Ashford United, Faversham Town and Burgess Hill Town. So, congratulations to former Invicta defender Kevin Watson on his award.

Golden Gloves sponsored by AB1

This season there are new sponsors of the Golden Gloves Awards in AB1 which is the company of Premier League winner and Bosnian international goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

Once again due to the amount of cup games last month, the winners had to have played a minimum of three League games to qualify.

Premier Division; Potters Bar Town conceded only two goals in the three games they played, so goalkeeper R’avan Constable picks up the award.

North Division; Dereham Town went unbeaten in October and with only three goals conceded the award goes to their goalkeeper Elliott Pride.

South Central Division; Having won it for the past two months, there’s no award for Westfield this time as it goes to South Park goalkeeper Sam Freeman, who kept two clean sheets in the club’s three games played in October. He also saved three penalties in an Alan Turvey Trophy (sponsored by Velocity) shoot-out against Chertsey Town which they won 4-3.

South East Division; There have been a number of mean South East Division defences in October, with three sides conceding only one League goal from three matches, but the award goes to Whitstable Town goalkeeper,  Dan Eason.

Performance of the Month sponsored by Supreme Trophies & Engraving

Supreme Trophies and Engraving provide all of the League’s trophies, as well as continuing to sponsor our Performance of the Month Awards.

Last month all the Divisional awards went to clubs who had performed well in the Emirates F.A. Cup and this month the majority again go to performances in F.A. Competitions.

Premier Division; Carshalton Athletic have been excellent in cup competitions this season and in  October they defeated Lowestoft Town in the Emirates F.A. Cup and Merstham in the Buildbase F.A.  Trophy, but the performance that won them the award was their 2-1 victory over Vanarama National League Dagenham and Redbridge in the Emirates F.A. Cup Fourth Qualifying Round, to earn them a home tie against Boston United in the First Round Proper.

North Division; The award goes to Maldon & Tiptree, who’ve had an exceptional start to the season in all competitions, for their 3-0 win over BetVictor Isthmian League Premier Division Cray Wanderers. Although it could have just as easily been for their other two Emirates F.A. Cup wins; 6-1 over South-Central Division Chertsey Town and 3-1 against BetVictor Southern League Premier Central side Royston Town, which has earned them a First Round tie at Leyton Orient.

South Central Division; Having lost 6-1 at Maldon & Tiptree in the Emirates F.A. Cup, Chertsey Town recovered quickly to beat Northwood 8-2 in a League game just three days later, despite having gone a goal down early on. This recovery and result has won them the award.

South East Division; Last month’s award went to Chichester City for their Emirates F.A. Cup victory over Step Three Hartley Wintney, and this month the award goes to…Chichester City for their Emirates F.A. Cup victory over Step Three Bowers & Pitsea. This result saw them reach the First Round Proper and draw the bye, so they are already looking forward to Monday’s Second Round draw!
