One of the most respected midfielders in south-eastern non-league football, Jacko came to Cheriton Road from Margate during former ‘Gate director Gordon Wallis’s fairly brief spell as Invicta chairman. And the north Kent farmer stayed long after financial cutbacks led to the other leading semi pros signed at the same time hot-footing it out of town for pastures more lucrative. Jimmy was a tremendous influence on the youngsters in the squad, many of whom have gone on to become accomplished Ryman League players. One of the real gentlemen of the game. Now retired it was good to see him at our FA Cup tie against Ebbsfleet earlier this season. |
