DRAYCS' STRIKE IS SCANT REWARD FOR INVICTA AS STILL'S DAGGERS CUT THROUGH TO MAKE THE MOST OF THEIR CHANCES

FOLKESTONE INVICTA 1

DAGENHAM & REDRIDGE 3

A lively young Daggers side that also included now fairly long ago Invicta loanee from Gillingham and now experienced MK Dons'and Daggers midfielder Luke Howell found the net twice in the second half to give the visitors a slightly flattering 3-1 win in Folkestone's penultimate home pre-season game on Monday night.

The Daggers took the lead on 16 minutes, but Folkestone arguably bossed the rest of the first 45 minutes and did everything but get back on terms with left-sided midfielder Kieron McCann again outstanding.

But commanding Dagenham boss John Still clearly asked more of his side at the half-time interval and they went further ahead within ten minutes of the restart.

With both sides ringing the changes Ian Draycott reduced the arrears  and Jordan Wright might have put Invicta back on terms before Dagenham completed the scoring 20 minutes from time.

Invicta included trialist Joe N'Guessen from the start but were short on the bench through pre-season knocks and unavailability with a couple of players away on holiday ahead of the Bostik League kick-off away at Enfield Town on August 12.

Before that, in their final ‘warm-up' match they take on Bostik League North Thamesmead Town in the Sid Burvill Memorial Cup at the Fullicks Stadium next Saturday, August 5th.

Invicta: Roberts (Chalmers-Stevens); Vincent, Kisitu, Osei, Davies, Everiitt (Madden), N'Guessen, Heard, Draycott, Yusuff, McCann (Wright)
